The Università della Svizzera italiana is organising the BioBusiness programme from 26 to 30 October 2020 in Lugano in Italian-speaking Switzerland. The opportunity for scientists, doctors, entrepreneurs and managers who want to turn their ideas into reality.

BioBusiness – A Comprehensive advanced program
BioBusiness is a one-week comprehensive program to promote entrepreneurship in the field of biotechnology. It provides a deep understanding of what it means to establish and finance successful biotechnology companies in Europe.
The program is tailored to the individual needs of biotech start-ups. The target audience therefore consists mainly of scientists, doctors and engineers who want to commercialize their developments and entrepreneurs and managers from the pharmaceutical or biotechnological sector who want to gain insight into the global biotechnology sector.
Participants will be provided with a guide to leadership, starting their own business and investment. The program also covers legal issues that are highly relevant in the context of BioBusiness.
The development and planning of a new business concept will be the main task of this week. At the end of the program, this idea will be presented in a pitch.
The seminars will be held by well-known and renowned players from industry, academia or venture capital, thus giving the participants the opportunity for networking.
“As a researcher, doing science, thinking science for all your life, one does not think business. As a researcher you need a kick, to lift up your nose from the lab bench, get out of the box and become an entrepreneur.
I had the privilege of getting the best kick one could hope for. With absolutely no previous experience, I attended the MedTech Business and BioBusiness programs at USI. These programs provided me with priceless knowledge and network. Thanks to these programs, I understood the potential behind my project and I got ready for the entrepreneurial challenge.”
