USound is a fast-growing audio company, developing and producing the most advanced audio systems for personal applications based on MEMS technology.

While electrodynamic speakers work with coils that in turn move in magnetic fields, MEMS silicon micro-speakers are based on a membrane mounted on a series of cantilevers made of PZT (lead zirconate titanate). When this material is subjected to electrical stress, the crystals in the PZT expand or shrink, causing the membrane to vibrate, which results in the generation of sound waves.
